TRA’s Responsible Retailing initiative offers value to the industry, environment and consumer

The Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) will launch its innovative Responsible Retailing initiative today at the NTDA’s Tyre Industry Conference 2017. Its suite of materials are designed to support retailers and the industry educate consumers on the value and environmental importance of tyre recovery. However, Responsible Retailing has been conceived as an inclusive scheme for the industry to partner in as it is anticipated to create new opportunities at all levels.

Responsible Retailing materials can be can be downloaded through the all-new tyrerecovery.org.uk website, which also goes live today.

Automotive Waste Associations join forces to form AWSA

The Automotive Waste Stream Alliance (AWSA) is a newly formed working group initiated by the TRA in conjunction with the British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA), the British Vehicle Salvage Federation (BVSF), the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers Association (MVDA) and the Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA).

The Alliance will work together on common areas of interest bringing together expertise and lobbying power from all five associations.

TRA elects new President

At an Extraordinary General Meeting, the Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) has elected a new President, John Bramwell, following the retirement of the previous incumbent, Mike Wilson.

John Bramwell is Operations Director at Conica Ltd based in Newark. He joined the Company (then Charles Lawrence Recycling) in 2001 as Operations Manager for the Tyre Recycling Plant. He has been at the sharp end of the tyre recovery for 15 years, both on the recycling of truck tyres and the supply of rubber granules for numerous applications, predominantly the sport and recreation markets.

Awarding of 2nd and 3rd PAS 107 certificates demonstrates QP is fulfilling industry need

Murfitts Industries and Boynton Bros & Hallam (Ranskill) Ltd have been awarded the second and third Certificates of Qualification, demonstrating their support of the Quality Protocol option (QP) in PAS 107.

CONICA LTD – Top of its game

CONICA LTD, formerly Charles Lawrence International, is the first company in the UK to be awarded a PAS 107 QP certificate for the way it manufactures, stores and distributes recycled rubber granulate created from waste tyres.

Tyre Recovery Association celebrates tenth anniversary with Recycling Day

The Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a Recycling Day, by extending an invitation to the tyre industry, stakeholders and waste industries to participate. The event will be held in partnership with the Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA), and will take place at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Warwickshire on 19th June 2015.
