Tyre Industry Federation
The Tyre Industry Federation provides a common platform for the industry representing members active in the whole tyre lifecycle from manufacture to end of life reprocessing.
The TRA seeks to speak on behalf of all its members on issues of common concern with TIF. The Federation aims to raise government awareness of the impact of the tyre industry of national concern including road safety, climate change and sustainability. The Federation aims to co-ordinate actions within the industry to improve communication, raise professionalism and increase business efficiency.
TIF’s core values are to respect the customer at every stage of the supply chain; to promote and defend the highest standards of professionalism throughout the industry and to operate in accordance with the highest principles of honesty, fairness and sincerity.
UTWG
The Used Tyre Working Group (UTWG) was formed in 1995 to act as a link between industry and Government on used tyre recovery issues. As a core UTWG member, the TRA interfaces effectively with the government and various other enforcement agencies. It is an important forum for the TRA to voice its members’ views on recovery issues and policies.
AWSA
The Automotive Waste Stream Alliance (AWSA) is a newly formed working group initiated by the TRA in conjunction with the British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA), the British Vehicle Salvage Federation (BVSF), the Motor Vehicle Dismantlers Association (MVDA) and the Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA).
The Alliance works on common areas of interest bringing together expertise and lobbying power from all five associations.
All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group
The TRA became a member of APSRG in the middle of 2017. Established in 1995, the All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group is the leading forum informing the debate between parliamentarians, business leaders and the sustainable resource community. The TRA is constantly searching for new opportunities to enable it to grow its voice and influence.
